The route

     - to date and yet to come …

A brief note about destination planning

As sailors, when planning our routes we are dependent on several factors which may impact our decision. That means that we can only make loose plans for our journey ahead. Weather, winds and sea state are a big dictators as to where to go and particular when to go. We want smooth sailing and don’t want to risk a storm to hurry to get somewhere. Political situations may also create changes; a recent example of this is that we had plans to go and spend a year in the Mediterranean, but the war in Israel/Gaza created such unrest in the Red Sea that we did not want to risk it. Another important factor is our whim! Along the way we learn new things about various destinations and meet other sailors with stories that might influence our plans. So our approach is: make loose plans, be prepared to change them, and then make the rest up as we go!

Our route as of 9 March 2024
